BOOKKEEPER

The Ashton-Franklin Center #275 School District is seeking a highly skilled, detail oriented and motivated Bookkeeper.

The ideal candidate must maintain accurate records which reflect the daily financial transactions of the school district. The candidate will be expected to have working knowledge of basic cash-based accounting principles and have experience in synchronizing bank statements with monthly financial activities. The candidate must be able to effectively use MS Office Suite programs and must have excellent organizational and time management skills. They should work collaboratively with team members and must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  1. Oversees the financial processes.
  2. Assists the Superintendent with processes and reports.
  3. Maintains accurate records for financial transactions for AFC.
  4. Management of employee benefits time including sick, personal, and vacation time.
  5. Payroll – including benefits, W-2s, quarterly reports and taxes for AFC.
  6. Reconciliation of AFC bank accounts.
  7. Maintain accurate set of records of all financial transactions for AFC
  8. Prepare financial statements, revenue and expenditure reports for AFC
  9. Assist Superintendent with budget preparation
  10. Assist Superintendent with financial projections
  11. Reporting and preparing AFC financial reports for the Board of Education
  12. State and federal reporting as required including TRS, salary studies, and service records
  13. Management and monitoring of employee benefits payments.
  14. Management of the AFC annual Audits
  15. Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:                

  1. High school diploma (BA or Associates degree preferred)
  2. Strong computer skills - proficient in excel, word, and accounting software.
  3. Strong communication skills
  4. Strong accounting skills
