Lateral Transfer Patrol Officers
The City of Ottawa, Illinois and its Board of Fire and Police Commissioners are seeking applications for qualified lateral transfer Patrol Officers.
Applications are available below or at City Hall, 301 W. Madison St., Ottawa, IL 61350.
Applications must be returned to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, 301 West Madison Street, Ottawa, Illinois 61350 no later than 4:30 p.m. on December 15, 2023.
The Ottawa Police Department currently consists of 36 sworn Police officers and 15 non-sworn telecommunicators, records, evidence and parking enforcement personnel. Of the sworn personnel, excluding administrative personnel, 26 are currently assigned to the Patrol Division, 4 to the Detective Division, and 3 to the public schools as School Resource Officers.
