The City of Plano is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Maintenance Worker III in the Streets Division of the City's Public Works Department. This entry level position works cooperatively with all  divisions of Public Works performing a variety of tasks. Primary duties within the Streets Division include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on City streets, parkways, tree trimming/removal, street striping, storm sewers, City vehicles and equipment, buildings and grounds, etc. Applicants must be available for overtime and  24-hour call out duty to include snow plowing/removal and emergency maintenance as necessary. 

The Maintenance Worker III also performs a variety of tasks using manual labor and construction trade skills, operates one or more types of equipment including mowing tractors, dump trucks, snow plows, loaders/backhoes, street sweepers, aerial bucket trucks, vacuum trucks, and other duties as assigned. The work often requires extensive physical strength and endurance including the ability to stand, bend, push, pull, kneel, regularly lift more than 75 pounds at any time, occasional confined space entry, and to withstand exposure to the elements. The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. 

The qualified applicant should have previous public works or construction experience, and a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement. Three to five years of relevant Public Works experience is preferred but not necessary. Excellent customer service skills are required. Starting salary is $41,600 plus overtime opportunities. First review for the position will be Friday September 13.
