The City of Plano, Illinois, is seeking a dynamic candidate for the role of Meter Technician.
In this entry Water Meter Technician position, the employee is responsible for reading and maintaining water meters and performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and operation of the water distribution system. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate meter data collection for billing and maintaining efficient operation of the water system.
The Meter Technician is selected by the City Administrator and hired after the City Council confirms the recommendation at a public meeting. After hiring, the Meter Technician will be under the direction of the Superintendent of Water. The position is full-time (40 hours/week), paid an hourly wage of $24.76 to $28.71 plus all legally mandated benefits (such as Social Security and Workers' Compensation Insurance), and benefits defined as sick days, vacation days and holidays.
