Illinois Valley Community College is a rural community college that has served the residents of District 513 since its opening within the LaSalle-Peru Township High School as LaSalle-Peru-Oglesby Junior College in 1924. The first Director was Dr. Thomas J. McCormack. The college continues to honor his memory by nominating top students as “McCormack Scholars.”
For the past 14 years, under the direction of retiring IVCC President, Dr. Jerry Corcoran, IVCC has accomplished a great deal, including but not limited to: creating a plan for continuous improvement; maintaining a quality faculty and staff; making facility and equipment improvements; and enhancing financial stability.
