Diesel Mechanic

DIESEL MECHANIC - MAIN SHOP LOCATION

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1.  Perform maintenance and repairs on all types of heavy construction equipment and semi-trucks.
2.  General shop duties: cleaning, organizing, maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
3.  Routine general maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
4.  Delivery and pick-up of supplies, equipment, and tools as needed.
5.  Routine mowing and maintenance around shop and farms.

Job Requirement: Valid Driver's License, CDL (encouraged, but not required). Proficient in Welding, Hydraulics and Heavy Equipment Repairs.

Compensation Package: Wage to be discussed at interview based on knowledge & experience.

About Us

In 2000, Chris Scanlon founded Scanlon Trucking, Inc. from his parent’s basement providing over the road trucking services to customers nationwide. Within a few years, the company expanded and moved to Kankakee, Illinois.  After marrying Beth in 2008, the couple decided to combine Chris’s passion for trucks with Beth’s passion for heavy equipment and start Scanlon Excavating and Concrete, Inc in 2010.  Previously, Beth worked as a local 150 Operating Engineer operating a variety of equipment on an underground pipe crew and later worked as a land development manager for a national home builder and co-owner of a concrete company.
