About Shaw Media:

Shaw Media publishes over 150 titles in Illinois and Iowa.  Its holdings include websites, newspapers, magazines, radio stations, and a digital marketing services division.  Founded in Dixon, Illinois, Shaw Media has been privately owned by the Shaw family since its inception in 1851.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare month-end close for the radio stations: amortize prepaid expense & record accruals, post revenue, record depreciation, calculate commission accruals, maintain balance sheet reconciliations
• Journalize and post expenses and sales journals
• Calculate and post AR adjustments and month-end metrics
• Maintain prepaid schedules
• Prepare annual insurance audits, 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC forms
• Budget/forecast taxes, amortization, interest, income, bad debt, etc.
• Annual preparation of bank and AR confirmations
• Annual preparation of AR reports, write-offs, and final trial balances

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 10 years of experience
• Advanced Excel user (pivot tables, vlookups)
• Experience with Vision Data and SBS are a plus

The successful candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
