Building Permit Clerk
The United City of Yorkville is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Building Permit Clerk for the Community Development Department. This position provides and maintains good public relations between the public and the Community Development Department via telephone, in writing, and in-person. The position assists with the day-to-day operations of the Building and Zoning Division of the department. This includes, but is not limited to, performing a variety of general office and customer service tasks, processing permit submittals, distribution of plans to appropriate staff or outside agencies, issuing approved permits, accepting payments, answering general building code and permit inquires, scheduling inspections and inputting property maintenance complaints. This position will also serve as the primary point of contact for the Community Development Department front desk.
The qualified applicant should have at least three (3) years administrative or office experience, preferably within a government setting or construction trade industry. Experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with this position and its essential job functions may be considered. Salary
Starting salary range is $52,000+ depending on qualifications.
