Maintenance Worker I
The Public Works Department is seeking to fill a vacancy for a Maintenance Worker I in the water division.
This position works cooperatively with all divisions of Public Works performing a variety of tasks. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Water plant maintenance, meter reading, water service repair and maintenance, and snow plowing. Applicants must be available for 24-hour call out duty to include water main break repair, snow plowing and other emergency maintenance as necessary.
The Maintenance Worker I also perform a variety of tasks using manual labor and construction trade skills, operates one or more types of equipment including power tools, hand tools, tractors, mowers, snow blowers, snow plows, and other duties as assigned. The work often requires extensive physical strength and endurance including the ability to stand, bend, pull, push, kneel, regularly lift more than 75 pounds at any time, enter confined spaces, and work in all types of weather conditions for many hours at a time.
This position would benefit from previous experience in public works or a related field. A Class B CDL will have to be obtained within 6 months.
