The United City of Yorkville is accepting applications for the position of part-time Utility Billing Clerk.

Under the direction of the Utility Billing Coordinator, the Utility Billing Clerk will assist with the billing process for all municipal utility accounts. This position involves extensive customer interaction and the capacity to address inquiries and concerns effectively.

Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the preparation, review and mailing of the City's bi-monthly utility bills; processing utility bill payments; transferring information recorded within the water meter radio units into the computer billing system; pursuing resolutions for past due accounts; managing incoming calls, relaying messages, and assisting with customer support at the front desk; investigating and resolving billing inquiries; arranging payment plans; and facilitating start/stop service requests.

Qualified applicants are expected to have strong customer service skills, proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications and adept mathematical skills. Qualified applicants for this position should have an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field; two (2) years of office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.

This is a part-time position and the selected candidate will typically work approximately twenty (20) hours per week, up to a maximum of 1,000 hours annually. Remuneration for this position is $20 per hour, with scheduling flexibility available within City Hall's regular business hours.
