Public Works Technician
The Village of Oswego is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Technician in the Public Works Department. This position is expected to be assigned to the Facilities Division, responsible for maintaining the Village’s buildings.
The Village of Oswego offers an excellent work environment and comprehensive benefits package, including health, paid time off and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension. Salary: $51,655 annually based on Local 150 collective bargaining agreement. Successful candidate with previous experience may be eligible to begin at a higher pay step.
Public Works Technicians take on many important tasks to ensure the health and safety of the community, including road maintenance, tree trimming and operating the Village’s water utility. The Facilities Technician will have responsibilities for performing snow removal from public streets, assisting with Village special events and supporting other divisions when needed.
A high school diploma or equivalent, and 1 to 3 years of work experience in the construction trade or related experience are required. Candidates must also possess a valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement or the ability to obtain one within one year of employment. Previous work experience with a government agency or public utility is preferred.
