Public Works Employee
The Village of Tampico is currently seeking a full-time employee for their Public Works Department.
The Village offers health insurance, holiday pay and paid vacation. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
The ideal applicant must have a High School Diploma and must be at least 18 years of age or older. Applicants must be able to pass initial drug screen and other random screenings as required, must have or be willing to obtain a CDL License within 6 months of being hired, must have knowledge of operating and maintaining heavy equipment, such as a backhoe, in a safe manner and willing to perform regular maintenance of Village equipment, must have experience or knowledge of water / wastewater systems and must have or be willing to obtain Water Treatment Testing License.
The applicant must also be willing to obtain vegetation / pest control certifications, and be willing to be on call after hours on a rotating basis. Applicant will need to perform a variety of duties for maintenance of all Village roadways and properties including grounds maintenance / mowing.
Each applicant will be required to maintain good public relations in working with the public in a respectful manner, communicate well with supervisors, staff members and fellow employees.
